Sew Happy Holidays

In this two part class you will learn things about applique, facing your fabrics, stitches to use, stabilizer, etc.  We have a lovely new fusible product for you to try. And if you don’t already have them I suggest you get the flat head angled tweezers to remove the stabilizer makes a quick job of this task (these tweezers have other applications as well).  In the first class we will be going over  the tracing, fusing and placement guides.  There will be homework, so that in the next class we can begin the actual stitching of our project.  Please read the supply list on the pattern as well as the supply list below.  This is going to be Sew Fun!

Supplies needed:

Holiday Sewing Tree Pattern by Amy Bradley and all supplies listed therein.
Button Kits available at Kay’s Quilt Shop for both colorways.
Light box if you own one
Fusible web, try our ????
Frixion Pen
Mechanical pencil
½ yard Shapeflex 101 for facing the fabrics that will shadow
½ yard Easy Pattern to create a placement guide
Tear away Stabilizer
Flat head angled tweezers to aid in the removal of stabilizer
Threads of your choice the sample was done with 40 wt embroidery thread.
Open Toe applique foot for your sewing machine
Knee lift if your machine does not have a pivot function
An extra light is helpful when doing the applique stitching.
Please have your machine in good working order and bring your manual so we can research stitches.
