Heart Lace Pillowcase

Second in the French heirloom sewing series, this beautiful AND easy to make pillowcase looks lovely in pima cotton or batiste BUT, can be made with any cotton fabric that you wish to sleep on. This class builds on the skills you learned in the first Heirloom Sewing Techniques class. In addition to using insertion lace, entredeux, ruffles and lace edging, you will learn a new and really fun technique called lace shaping. The best part? The “fancy” work is only on the pillowcase top so, you just turn it over at night and sleep on the smooth side. Kay’s has lovely Pima cotton perfect for this and Patty will have a nice selection of lace, trims and sewing machine accessories available for you to choose from- sold seperately. Pattern is included in the class fee.  Patty is a Martha Pullen Certified Licensed Teacher!

Student supply list:
Sewing machine with straight and zigzag stitch capability
Accessory feet if you have: 
-edge joining foot, gathering foot, open toe foot (Patty will have available also)
Fine quality fabric such as Pima cotton (available at Kay’s) or batiste.  
-If using 60” wide fabric, you will need 1 ¼ yards for either size
-If using 45” wide fabric, you will need 1 ½ yards for KING or 1 1/3 yards for Standard
Foot pedal, cord and operation manual
FRESH 80/12 or 70/11 Sharps, quilting or Microtex needle
Thread good quality Superior, Elfina, Aurifil 60wt or 50/2 wt white and one pastel color
Extra bobbins
Glass head pins
Frixion or water soluable fine line pen
