Christmas Stocking
Bring your strip scraps or choose all new coordinating fabrics for this beautiful Christmas Stocking. You will learn the easy technique of sew-n-flip that can be applied to numerous projects and how to create a lined stocking with no unfinished seams. All while making new friends and having fun with Christine who has been teaching quilting for 25 years.
REQUIRES:
rotary cutter & mat
6"x24” acrylic ruler
sewing machine in good working order fabric scissors
straight pins
pencil
seam ripper
***** You can embroider the name on the cuff either by machine or by hand (see separate info)
FABRIC:
1/2 yd lining
fat 1/4 for back *(if directional 1/2 yd) assorted strips for front OR 9-12 fat 1/8ths contrasting scraps for toe and heel
1/2 yd batting
1/3 yd cuff
1/8 yd Shape Flex
7” piece of ribbon/cord
Template plastic
CUFF INFORMATION
You can embroider the name on the cuff with your own embroidery machine, by hand, or we can embroider it for you at Kay’s for a small fee.
BY YOUR MACHINE:
Start with a 12x22” strip of fabric and fold in half so that you have a 6x22” strip. Place your stabilizer on the wrong side of one half of the strip. Center the name above the folded edge of the cuff and using your machine’s specific method, embroider the name.
BY HAND:
Start with a 12x22” strip of fabric and fold in half so that you have a 6x22” strip. Iron your stabilizer on the wrong side of one half of the strip. With pencil, draw the name. Using your desired number of DMC floss strands, stitch the name.
AT KAY’S:
The day you sign up for class, you must choose your cuff fabric and arrange with Kay to have your cuff embroidered.
