It sure is time for a newsletter, I have so much to share and have gotten so much wonderful fabric in, you might need a cup of tea to get through this.
Fabrics....We got in a wonderful shipment of Northcott's "Koi Pond", beautiful metallics with koi fish and dragonflies in shades of greens and aquas. There is a great panel to go with it. While all of the fabrics are limited quanities, the panel is very limited. Check out our website but the photos do not do it justice.
Dr. Suess is here with "Oh the Places You will Go" in panels as well as yardage.
A sweet baby panel "Little One" with some nice coordinates by Robert Kaufman.
"Water Wishes" by Wilmington is a book but we have cut up the book and made a small baby quilt with some cute coordinating fabrics.
Lots and lots of batiks from Majestic, Wilmington and Robert Kaufman. We have batiks in every color. But of course, you all know how much we love our batiks!
On Thursday we got in our newest addition, wool! I am so excited to have Judi McCall teaching a wool applique class. The wool is very colorful and cheerful. The project is a free download from Andover. Judi is working on the sample and once it is together we will be scheduling a class or two. For those of you who know Judi, she is a fantastic wool applique needle worker and teacher. So if you have even the slightest interest in learning, she is the one to learn from. We will have kits available for this class.
We have more cork on order, so watch Facebook for when that arrives.
I have made a fun Sashiko wall hanging, so look for more Sashiko to be coming in soon.
We are now refilling your "Best Press". You just bring in your empty "Best Press" container and Scott will re-fill it for you and save you some $$$.
Mary Ellen is teaching a class using a cute pattern called "What's in Your Bag?". The bag has a vinyl window so you can see what is in the bag. The pattern takes 2 fat quarters and a zipper. This class is a one day class and is on Tuesday, April 2 or on Saturday, April 6. You can sign up for either class online or stop in the shop.
Mo will be teaching the beginning Westalee Ruler class on Tuesday, April 16 from 10:30am until 1:00pm. You need to take this class before you can take the 7 week class that shows you lots of quilting options. You do need to have some supplies that will take 2 weeks to get here from the West Coast. So you will need to plan ahead if you need any items ordered, which we will do at the shop.
Starting on Tuesday, April 23 Mo will be teaching her 7 week Westalee Ruler Class once again. The class will run from 10:30am to 12:30pm every Tuesday until June.
For an easy beginner quilt Mo will be teaching "Yellow Brick Road". What is so wonderful about this pattern is that every quilt turns out looking so different than the other, all with just a change of fabrics. This class is on Tuesday April 23 and May 7 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
The "Table Runner of the Month" has started to arrive. We just received May's. It is so springlike and fresh. These are limited kits every month. You do not need to sign up for every month, but each month is more fun that the last, and you do get the kit in plenty of time to get it completed before the month it is for.
I am thinking about doing a Mystery Quilt class in May. What are your thoughts?
We are getting a great response to "Pamper Kamp". Are you signed up yet?
All is well at Kay's and am hoping you can report the same. Thanks once again for your support and friendship.
