So much going on.....
My goodness how this summer has flown by. As you all should know by now, we are settled into our new nest. After that we had a very successful ‘Pamper Kamp’. Then I flew to Ohio to vend at the Circleville Quilt Show. That was so much fun and a great chance to see many of our winter quilters.
As many of you may know, we have had some major issues getting our phone re-set-up. It was necessary to switch from one carrier to another. Let’s just say that they don’t play(read it as work) together well! But, we are back in business with our old phone number 239-337-5297! So we are excited to say we are back in business as usual. I guess we can say we are “ normal”. (Hint: Wait until you see the cute picture I have picked up for the shop!)
I have stayed on for a few extra days to spend some time with Michele and rest a bit. But as with anytime we are together, we come up with more things that we want to do than there is time for! She has a couple quilting/sewing projects she wants done and I have been able to do some filing projects at her office to help her out a bit.
So so as some of you may know, my birthday is 27 days after Scott’s and Michele’s is 27 after mine. So since we are about at the half way point between Scott’s and my special days, we are having a “Birthday Blowout Sale”. So what do you think of 27% off all fabric yardage, minimum 1 yard cuts. We do have some new fabrics that have arrived and are included. So this sale is Thursday, Friday and Saturday,
We we got in some great tropical prints and something really different, African Wax Prints, these prints have some great bold colors. I am very excited to see the projects you will be using them in!
I have been working on getting our fall schedule put together. We have several new teachers up our sleeves, so that means a variety of different styles of classes. So many new things that I am super excited about. We have a couple classes scheduled for September to get us started.
Mo is back with both her ‘Basic Walking Foot Quilting Class’ and her ‘Free Motion Quilting Class’. Both classes are scheduled for early September, are half day classes and will be posted on our website soon.
Mary Ellen is teaching a paper pieced project from the book ‘Little Gems’. She will be teaching the ‘Tranquility’ project. This class is being offered on Saturday, September 7 from 10am - 2pm. Cost is $35. Stop by the shop to see the great sample.
We are going to be doing a special class, to make your quilting projects easier by making a “Mini Design Board”, to help in the assembly of more complicated blocks. This class is just $25.00 and you will be going home with your completed design board. Watch for more details to come.
On Tuesday, September 10, we will also be doing an “AccuQuilt Demo Day”. So you think you know all about the AccuQuilt machine, well we are going to show you just how quickly a whole quilt can be cut out, how you can use some templates for raw edge appliqué and how nicely some of their blocks go together like flying geese and half square triangle blocks. This is a free demo, but does require pre-registration.
Mary Ellen has a cute pattern called “Goody, Goody Bag”. She is using it for a binding kit, with a place for Wonder Clips, thread, scissors and thread. This a free download pattern and the class is scheduled for Thursday, September 12. The sample is in the shop.
We are having a Pillow Case Day on Saturday, September 14 from 10:30 to 2:30. This is always a fun day and we love to see the great fabric combinations for pillowcases for kids. If you are unable to attend, you can always drop off cases before hand and that day.
As usual, Scott and I want to thank you for your support and friendship, especially during the difficult summer we have just gotten though.
Kay and Scott
