We are really starting to be settled in our new shop. Most of the moving totes have been emptied, the new APQS long arm machines have been delivered and assembled, we have had new shipments of fabric starting to arrive. I have started to assemble a list of classes we will be posting with photos this week.
Get to know your Machine with PattyDo you or someone you know have a sewing machine just sitting in the closet? This will be a one on one session to learn just what your machine is capable of.Hemingway Pouch with CarynWe do have a couple samples in the shop. It is a fun project, perfect size for a tablet or a Kindle.
Atlas with CarynA great zipped bag with lots of zipped pockets! We have a really cute sample at the shop. I can think of tons of uses for this bag!
Beginning Quilting with KayThe perfect beginner project for those wanting to learn to quilt. We will cover cutting, piecing, pressing and assembling your quilt top.Paper Piecing with AntonLearn how to paper piece from someone who loves paper piecing. We will be working on one block, but you can make as many blocks as you want to make a table runner, wall hanging or a quilt.Poinsettia Pillow with Maryi know that Christmas is a number of months away, but it is never to early to start on this stunning pillow. We have several samples in the shop. This class is taught by the person who wrote the pattern.
Sashiko Stitching with Kayif you know Kay, you know that she loves hand stitching. Once I tried sashiko, I have never looked back. This is a relaxing project.I have some new ice dyed sashiko threads in the shop. I enjoy dying these threads almost as much as I enjoy stitching with them! Of course none of them are the same, even from the same dye batch.All classes require a minimum of 4 students. If you really want to take one of these classes, recruit your friends to join you.We will soon be adding the rental program class to our calendar. Once you complete the class, you can schedule rental time on either the Ellie or the Lucey to complete your projects. This would be free motion or pantographs(non-computerized).
So what else is new with us? Franklin has a new younger brother. Michle has opened her home to a foster child, Jarvas is an 11 year old boy. Franklin loves being a big brother and is doing an amazing job of it! So it looks like Scott will get to Grandparent/Grandchild Camp again this year! (Yes, he is excited!) Of course, I am working on a quilt for a new grandson.If you have not been to our shop yet, we are still waiting for our sign to arrive. We are located between the Dollar Tree and Ginger Bistro.
