We are now able to schedule one on one certification classes so that you can rent either Lucey or Ellie to quilt your own projects. The certification class is 4 hours and does allow you to practice on our quilt sandwich and then complete a small quilt of your own after learning the features of the machine and how to load the quilt. Quite the deal!Classes are scheduled between you and Scott, so it works with your schedule! The Ellie is what we are calling "Condo or apartment sized" longarm. It does have a roller system, so it is easy to load and advance. At 5'6" it will fit in a very small space. This is great machine for pantographs or free motion.Lucey can be fit with a computer system(like our Millie 30), or you can free motion or use a pantograh with a laser light. It is a fun machine to use and can be fitted on an 8', 10', 12' or 14' table.Millie (the queen bee) has a lot of bells and whistles. You can use pantographs with a laser light, free motion or a computer program. This machine which uses a different table(Comfort Table) with electric lift so you can sit and quilt. This is the top of the line table. Added bonus...both Millie and the Millie 30 as well as the rest of the APQS longarms are on sale until the end of the month of April!I have had a request for placemats for Meals on Wheels. They need 400 and they cover both Lee and Collier Counties. So since it is always more fun to work as a group, I have set aside Thursday, May 22 as "Placemat Day". So plan on stopping by to work on placemats, drop off fabric or extra block or drop some some completed placemats between 10-3. I do have some blocks here that just need borders and backs. Let's see just how many we can get done!I have lots of stocking kits ready to be picked up and assembled for the troops. Any excess will be given to be filled for foster kids! Last year was a great success, 1,000 for the troops, 800 for foster kids and a request we had for 200 elderly at a nursing home! Together we do great things!Just a reminder that I have a beginning quilt class starting on Wednesday, May 14. This is a three week class. I have just 2 openings left in this class.Save the date...Kay's Grand Re-opening Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17. Lots of good food, fun and do I have the prizes on hand! More on that later.I am working on some additional classes for the summer. I have had a request for a class using men's neckties. Anyone else interested? Also working on a bag class. Is anyone interested in a temperature quilt class? I have started one for my birth city and year. I am finding that a lot of fun. Thank you for your friendship and support. Kay and Scott
