It's time for a party at Kay's!
|
The first thing I want to put out there, is Happy Mother's Day! I have had a great day. It was very laid back. I even made a chocolate cake with my favorite cream cheese frosting! Yes, life is good. It is time for our Grand Re-Opening!Plan on stopping by either Friday or Saturday, Mary 16-17. We have many fun things planned. We have instore specials, new sashiko kits, new fabric and notions. Not to mention great snacks and LOTS of door prizes! And I do mean DOOR PRIZES! I do think Scott has a few specials up his sleeve too! Plus you can seen the Lucey or Ellie APQS longarm machines in action and try them.
I have had a few responses to doing something with neck ties. SO we are going to "tie" one on! I have scheduled a planning quick class to discuss possible projects and ideas. A small class fee to join this group. The class is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 at 6P.M. Join us and lets get our brains working toward some fun projects. We have started our longarm training classes on the Lucey. So far everyone has been very pleased with their completed projects. Remember, these classes are one on one and the schedule is set between you and Scott. So stop by or give us a call to schedule your class! How about a donation update! To date we have 313 stockings completed at the shop. This is a huge bite into the 1,000 needed for the military. Anything over and above goes to either foster kids(you know this is very near and dear to my heart) or for the holidays for Meals on Wheels (they need 400). I do believe we can help both of the additional projects.Speaking of Meals on Wheels, they have had a request for place mats for their clients. This is for both Lee and Collier Counties. Their request is for just 400. So on Thursday, May 22 we are having a Place Mat Day. You are welcome to come work. We already have a number of place mats and we do have some fabrics to get started, however if you have orphan blocks or fabric to donate, they are all welcome.
Looking ahead, I am so excited that Hilary Bobaker is making a bag pattern just for Kay's. And it's called Kay's Bag! I even got to pick out the fabric for the sample! At this point we do not have photos yet, but we are looking at a Saturday class in August. More details and photos to come, so stay tuned. Thank you for your friendship and support. Kay and Scott
