The All Florida Shop Hop is now history, but we were able to meet many new to our shop quilters.  It was great fun and thank you to everyone who made it into the shop.  We are looking forward to next year and have already gotten to see the exciting fabric designs that will be highlighted. But in the meantime, check out what we have going in the shop.
We are now on our summer hours.  We are closed on Sunday and Monday, the rest of days the remain the same.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10-4
Thursday  10-8
Saturday 10-3
Lots of new classes....
Patty has recently completed her Martha Pullen Heirloom Sewing certification.  This is a major accomplishment. She made many beautiful pieces and of course passed with flying colors!
The first class she is offering is an Heirloom Sewing Technique class.  This is a prerequisite for all of the Heirloom classes to come.  This class will be offerered twice, before the first project class is offered.
Thursday, May 14 from 5:30-8
Saturday, May 30 from 10:30-1
The Heirloom Sewing project is the perfect pillowcase for a queen or princess in your family.  Yes, you can make this for yourself! Class is scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at 10:30.
Patty has created a Bench Pillow pattern.
We have this pillow made up with my name and a USA pillow.  This is perfect for the 250th Anniversary Celebration.  This class is set for Saturday, May 9 at 10:30.
I will be teaching the Slipper class again.  The last time I taught it, we had so much fun. This is a fun and practical project.  We will get one slipper done, with the second one not too far behind.  Class is Saturday, May 23 starting at 10:30.
I started a Temperature Quilt a few months ago. Life got in the way, but I am working on it now.  I have selected my birth year and Detroit, Michigan where I was born. I broke up the temperature for every 4-5 degrees. Each day has a piece that represents both the high and low of that day, plus leap day! So I have 366 days to make up.  This class will take a bit of time to get it organized and ready to start stitching, so it will be held over 3 weeks.  Class times are Thursday, May 21 and 28 as well as June 4 starting at 10:30.  If we want, we can continue to meet to encourage each other.
"Rope Patty" is offering another Beginning Rope class before she leaves for the summer.  She is a fantastic teacher and has so many wonderful hints. This class is Saturday, June 6 starting at 10:30.
"Rope Patty" also has a Jelly Roll Rug/Placemat class scheduled for May 16 at 10:30.  One jelly roll will make either a nice rug or 4 placemats.  Her rugs and placemats are so flat and not overly thick.  Just beautiful projects.
Thank you to all who have donated Christmas fabric for all the Christmas stockings we will be making and donating to the Red Cross to donate to the military.  Any that we have over what they can take will go to Foster Children in both our area and Ohio where we got our grandsons.  I am also hoping we can help out Meals on Wheels in both Lee and Collier Counties like we did last year.  We have lots of stocking kits ready to be stitched together.  They are a quick and easy project, perfect for when you need an easy sew.
We are also looking to have placemats to put into each stocking for Meals on Wheels.  These can be made out of orphan blocks or scraps.  They are so pretty when we get to see them all.
On Wednesday, May 13 from 1-3 we have an APQS Road Show scheduled.  If you have any questions about longarming, are looking to purchase a longarm or want to upgrade, this is a special time just for you.  Please just give us a call or stop by to register for this free session.
One last note, we are working on a week of Kid's Camp.  I don't have all the details worked out yet, but I have set aside the week of July 7-10 from 1-4.
We are continuing our One On One Sessions with Patty to get to know you sewing machine, embroidery machine as well as your serger.  Patty is very knowledgeable about all of these machines.  These sessions are scheduled at a time that works best for both you and Patty.  Just call or stop by.
This summer is a great time to learn how to use a longarm, so you can finish that special project yourself.  Once you have taken the class, you can rent one of our machines.  These are also a one on one class, scheduled at a time that works best for both you and Scott.

Thank you for your friendship and support.
